The Village at Buckingham in Avon is an active adult community located about halfway between Unionville and Collinsville adjacent to Countryside Park, the Buckingham Athletic Fields, the PAK Playground and The Heritage at Buckingham in Avon, a common interest community of 148 individual homes. The Village consists of 56 individual houses on three roads off Buckingham Road, Chelsea Place (10 homes), Cavendish Place (20 homes) and Kenington Road (26 homes). At least one resident must be 55 years of age or older and no resident may be younger than 18 years old.
The Village and The Heritage were developed by the partnership of Girouard Associates and Building and Land Technology, both Connecticut firms, and constructed from 2002 through 2006. The two entities share the community green and The Buckingham Club, a recreation facility that includes a state of the art fitness center, a lounge with a large screen television, meeting rooms and a commercial grade catering kitchen. There are extensive walking trails throughout.
The Village homes feature three basic styles, the Alcott, the Bartlett and the Cambridge. Each has at least three bedrooms and two and a half baths. The master bedroom is on the main level. Some homes have daylight or walkout basements. All homes have public water, public sewer connection and natural gas for heating, cooking and a fireplace in the living room.
The Village is a condominium with each owner responsible for both the inside and outside of his home. All the land is owned in common and administered by The Village at Buckingham in Avon Association, Inc., in accordance with its Declaration, Bylaws and Regulations. The Association is governed by an Executive Board consisting of three members, the president, vice president--secretary, and the vice president—treasurer, who are elected by the homeowners. In addition there is a Landscape Committee and an Architectural Review Committee composed of residents. The Association employs a professional property manager to handle day to day operations. The Association takes care of all the common areas including landscaping, lawn mowing, snow plowing, etc. |
